I had a post valentine date with my friends today. We hardly see each other because of busy schedules. Anyway, one of them is getting married soon and I got curious of the her fiance's age. It was then that we realized how old we are now. She said " Nasa thermometer pa naman yung age natin ah ". I laughed because I only know about the calendar thing. I asked her what if our age weren't in thermometer anymore? She thought about it and said " E di tape measure!"... hahahaha!!!! I'll never forget that.

Life's lesson: Self-Control
Isinulat ni
Lorie
I don't have much of self control when I was still young. When I'm mad, I'm mad. If I want something, I must get it. I'd do and say what I want without even thinking. I've done lots of mistakes in the past and when I get hurt or frustrated I would end up asking why it happened or why can't I have it. But things have changed now, I have mastered the art of self control.
They said we really have no control of what happens to us. Example, We can't stop the car from breaking down, we can't stop the rain, we can't stop people from making mistake, we can't stop people from making judgement...
Most of our mistakes comes from our lack of self control and most of the time we also regret for not having so. If I get frustrated for not having what I want or not getting the reactions I'm expecting from other people, I just accept the fact that these are uncontrollable. I could only control myself and on how I would react wisely and maturely. It makes my life easier by doing so!

Hypochondriac?
Isinulat ni
Lorie
This is the problem when a person knows a lot of things. Me having a background in medicine and a nurse at the same time, knows a lot of knowledge about diseases. I tend to be hypochondriac sometimes.
One time, my left eye got irritated from my contact lens and because I don't usually bring my solutions every time I go out, I didn't remove it. My eye suffered for about 1 hour. Stupid me for letting it to happen! Whew! I took it out immediately when I reached home and then I noticed an abnormality in my sight. My left eye can see halos around lights. I thought I just need to rest it so I slept for 2 hours. When I wake up, my sight is still the same and that made me panicked! That was the first time! And it was so sudden! I didn't mention that I also have a headache that time and it made the situation worst. A lot of things are coming into my head. Do I have Glaucoma knowing I have a headache? Did I injure my eye? Am I going to be blind? If not, will the halos be permanent? Am I having retinal detachment?
I called my friend who's an optometrist and consulted about it. I was in panic that my hands were shaking. She tried to comfort me by saying that it's not glaucoma or retinal detachment but I need to consult an ophthalmologist if possible to know what went wrong. She suspected it as corneal edema. I wasn't convinced and so I called another friend of mine who is also a Doctor and luckily her brother-in-law is an ophthalmologist. I consulted over the phone and he said the same thing. Because of the irritation form my contact lens, my cornea became edematous attracting water which explains the halos that I can see around lights. I just have to rest it and hopefully my eyesight would go back to normal the next day. I felt relieved and convinced at last. To make it short, I slept early that night and my eyesight went back to normal the next day.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Because of too much tension, my headache worsen that night and resulted to nausea and vomiting.
I didn't check my Blood Pressure because I would just worry more.
The next day I told my two friends about the good news.
The most important is I've learned my lesson...
From then on I always bring my lens container with the solution.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Hypochondriasis manifests in various ways. Some people have numerous intrusive thoughts and physical sensations that push them to check with family, friends and physicians. Other people are so afraid of any reminder of illness that they will avoid medical professionals for a seemingly minor problem, sometimes to the point of becoming neglectful of their health when a serious condition may exist and go undiagnosed. Yet, some others live in despair and depression, certain that they have a life-threatening disease and no physician can help them, considering the disease as a punishment for past misdeeds.

Feeling low
Isinulat ni

I woke up today with a beautiful morning. The weather is good, the sun's reflection from my window's curtain gave my room a bright glow. But these things didn't succeed in making me high. I feel low today. I don't have the energy, I wonder if my cycle has something to do with this again. Hmmm...
This is one of the days that I'm missing bossing.

Careless...

I found my old watch in my closet today. My dad gave it to me long time ago. I have kept it for years but wear it only a few times. It is a Swiss, Raymond Weil watch. I've never valued it until I found out that it's really expensive. Whew! It's not working anymore so I thought I need to replace the battery with the new one. I went to the mall to have it repaired only to find out that the circuit (w/c the repair man refers to) is also broken. The cost of the battery is only P300 but the circuit repair is P1,500. What a price!!! A woman who is also there asked, "Bakit yung sa akin 300 lang, yun kanya mahal?" The repair man smiled and answered, " Swiss watch po kasi yun sa kanya " Having a second thought about the repair, I took my watch and left the place. Blaming myself for being careless. Hayayay!
Later on I've realized its sentimental value and even if I could buy a new watch that costs P1,800, I'd still want it repaired.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Upon searching on the internet, I found out that there are only four official retailers of Raymond Weil Luxury watches here in the Philippines. The nearest from my place is in Megamall. The name of the store is Chronos. I might go there next time to inquire about the repair.

If you can't beat 'em, BURN 'em!
Isinulat ni

What prompted me to lose weight was when most of my clothes doesn't fit me anymore. When one of my friends got married last year, I spent 2 weeks going back and forth to the mall just to look for the perfect dress. I was so frustrated that I ended up using my old dress. I know that I have to do something. So I joined Fitness First with the hope that I could bring back my old shape. Well, I didn't fail! For the first 3 months, the result was really significant and satisfactory. I've gradually lost a total of 8 lbs which is about 0.70 lbs/week.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
NO DIET PLEASE! Eating is my passion and dieting has no appeal to me. When I started my fitness program, I was advised to eat every 2-3 hours ( small frequent feeding) which is good for me. This is to increase my metabolism. When I started working out, I noticed that I'm actually eating more than before. I indulge myself to my cravings and eat anything I want. The only thing is that I have to burn those calories after ha!ha!ha! Well, it's better that way than to eat a lot and not burn them.
You might be wondering what kind of program I'm into. Here it is.
20 mins- treadmill
1 hr - cycling (this is the ultimate calorie killer coz it burns 400-900 calories per
session depending on your effort)
1 hr - weight lifting known as the body pump ( the best way to shape up... burns 200 calorie per session)
I do this 4-5 times a week and yes this is how sincere I am.
The result is losing weight of not lesst han 0.50 lbs a week. Plus a sense of happiness every after session. Our body releases a happy hormone known as endorphin especially during enjoyable exercise. It relieves depression, brings sweet sleep and is the most powerful single factor in maintaining optimum health. As a rule, happy people have better than average health.
What an ecstatic feeling after!

Let's blame the Hormones!
Isinulat ni

I saw this line from one of my kabl@gs and I thought it's a nice title for this post haha!!!
Let's face it! Sometimes we have so many issues that we can't solve. For the past weeks I've been facing some difficulties that involves my emotions leading to depression and confusion. I guess I'm just in need of comfort when I go ballistic and I can't find anyone who would calm me. Sigh.
So I called bossing (my husband) and asked for a comforting wisdom and advice. It's a good thing that he understands me so much, giving me comfort and love. Secrets aren't in our vocabulary. We are partners, we are friends... That makes me very open to him... That makes me love him more. He has his own way of explaining things to me. Making me see every situations in different perspectives.
Anyway, since I've overcomed my sleepless nights and my hormones has come to stability. Bossing gave me the perfect reason to be happy. He says I might be preggy this year so we have to take our vacation in Palawan to the fullest *_*... I've been dying to go to there but it didn't push through last summer. I guess it will now.
-----------
Sigh. Don't you think it's the hormones that makes me go insane sometimes?.. Let's blame it anyway! My PMS has come to pass! wink*

What Neri Is Too Afraid to Tell the Public, and Why
Isinulat ni

In the past few weeks J-Lo better known as Engr. Jun Lozada had been very controversial and popular due to his connection with the NBN-ZTE Scam. He had revealed lots of informations about the ZTE deal that should have been heard from CHED Chairman Romulo Neri. I know that most of us are looking forward for more revelations in the days to come. And since it is the best interest of most people to know what is the truth behind the so-called Scam, we should take part in praying and hoping for the truth to come out.
There was an article posted at Pinoy Press saying that J-Lo wrote an email to Vicente “Enteng” Romano III of the Black and White Movement sometime in October. It's about his knowledge regarding the NBN-ZTE Deal. The said article was entitled What Neri Is Too Afraid to Tell the Public, and Why. They claim that the statements here came from J-Lo but it has not been authenticated nor signed by him. It's up to us to judge if we believe it or not.

Back to Blogging

This is why I didn't blog for 5 days, I'm busy doing my mom's scrapbook as a gift for her bday on the 24th. I have mentioned from my previous blog that we are planning for a surprise party that will be held on the 23rd and we are now busy organizing it. I'm in a rush to finish the scrapbook. Actually I've printed out some of the pages I've made including the invitation card. Only me my sis and my dad know this. I've contacted a very good friend of mine who hosted my wedding to help us out with the gimmicks to make it very memorable for my mom. She's also a party planner and a singer that's why she can be of big help.
We're done with the food tasting last Dec 1. It was really good and the price as well. A buffet with 16 native and Asian dishes, with appetizer station, Mongolian bar, Garden and native salad, assortment of pickled fruits and veggies, halo-halo bar, desserts and bottomless drinks.
We have ordered the cake this afternoon, at least 2 weeks earlier because we know that there'll be lots of occasions for Christmas and we wanna make sure that we order it ahead of time.
I've seen this picture from the Internet and showed it to the cake decorator but it will not be exactly as this one. We decided to make it round with only 3 layers instead of 4 and the colors will follow the motif which is Red and Gold (RED symbolizes Love and GOLD for Blessings). Gold is also the favorite color of our mom.
We are also planning to distribute the invites next week making sure that nobody will leak it to my mom.
By the way, These are some of the scrap pages I've made

Rocking Chair
Isinulat ni

It was noontime today when I was sitting in our living room, watching TV, that I felt like my chair was rocking. I didn't move for a while, not sure of what was happening, only my eyes were just moving, looking around until I saw the fancy decors hanging above the TV, swaying back and forth. Was it an earthquake? At first I didn't know but I have a feeling it was. I went upstairs and asked my mom if she felt it and told her that I think there was an earthquake. I'm not really sure about it so she opened the radio immediately. I went downstairs, still confused, asking myself if I was delusional. I can see the fancy decors still moving but about to stop already. I thought it was just the wind, but the windows were closed. So I went upstairs again and told my mom that it was really an earthquake and true enough it was. An Intensity 3 quake hit Manila while Intensity 2 in Quezon City. The epicenter was 77 kilometers from Lingayen, Pangasinan. According to Punongbayan it is unlikely to cause a tsunami or even stronger aftershocks. Thank God that the Magnitude was only 5.4 and there wasn't any reports of damage or injury...

Of Separation and Survival...
Isinulat ni

Been wanting to write this...
A lot of those I know always ask me how do I manage a long distance relationship? As I always exclaim! (with exclamation point haha!) it depends on the couple handling it that's why trust and communication is very important. Being separated from the person you love is very challenging in the sense that it puts your love to test. I will tell you this " If your relationship didn't last for the reason that his absence made you fall out of love then that is NOT love at all that is just INFATUATION sistah!!!!!"
Love survives separation; Infatuation cannot!
Love may even grow during a separation. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. If your love has been genuine, you will have been uniting your life more and more with your loved one. When he or she is separated from you, you will feel as though part of your own self is missing. Absence helps you recognize how much the relationship means to you.
Infatuation dies quickly once the other person fades from the sight. Out of sight, out of mind holds because infatuation bases itself largely on the physical attraction and one or two other qualities. Interest will die rather rapidly when the relationship is not sustained by contact. Infatuation cannot survive the test of time.
Of course we wouldn't want to be in a long distance relationship. Who wanted it anyway? Nobody! right? But sometimes for some reasons we have to be in it. Sooner or later I will have to go with my hubby (sa US) but as for now we are enjoying every moment that we are missing each other...excited as we are in planning his next vacation.. Mas masarap kapag namimiss nyo ang isa't-isa kesa sa nagkakasawaan kayo dahil lagi kayong magkasama diba?!. Of course there are some quarrels that we cannot avoid but that's what makes it colorful and spicy. What is important is that at the end of the day we reconcile and understand more of each other.

Don't you know that you can earn money by blogging? I just found that out today. Everytime I do bloghopping I see posts on how they get paid by blogging. Never understand about it until finally I found the right website-- www.blogsvertise.com-- that would explain me how to. You just have to mention or talk about their products and services in your blogs or journals. Then they'll pay you in exchange.
In addition, if you're an advertiser, you can register your products to their website.

About 2 days ago, I got a phone call from my Kuya (my beloved husband) telling me that his Petition for me has been approved already. Yippeee!!! I'll be receiving letter from the embassy within 90 days. I was happy at the moment but became confused after. I have applied my NCLEX last August and I'm expecting to get my eligibility this December. Now, I'm thinking where to take the Exam. As much as possible I wanna take it here. The earliest schedule could be April if it's not yet fully booked. Hopefully I'm still here by that time... Bahala na

I haven't done much last weekend. Just stayed home and rest. Anyway, this morning I went to the PRC for my Scheduled Registration...
I recently passed the Nursing Board Exam.Yes! I'm one of the thousands who passed last June. I belong to the Allied group. My previous courses were Biology and Medicine...
Going Back, I was just in time when I got there. I immediately went to the verification section and luckily the line wasn't long. They instructed us to wait outside near the flag pole for the roll call. As I was sitting there, I thought that maybe It will not take long and I can go home early. After a while a man came out and called us one by one to pay for the registration fee. When he called me he said "Ah! Ito may Problema!". I approached him and he instructed me to go to the Records Section for verification of my Birth Date. True enough that instead of July 3, they put July 1. Unfortunately I didn't bring my Original Birth Certificate (who would have thought that I'll be needing it?) so I have to go back tomorrow and show it to them. I went home early (as expected hehehe), haven't done my registration and now I will have to file a petition for the change of my Birth. Whew!

All I could think of everyday when I wake-up was to open my computer and write something for my blog. Waaaah! I'm kinda addict to this already. Aside from scrapbooking and searching for freebies on the net, I'm also fond of blog hopping. Learning new things from their sites and getting new ideas for scrapbooking.
To those who are visiting my site and leaving their messages THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I appreciate that you're spending time reading my blogs. This is why blogging is fun, aside from sharing and showing who you are, you also get to know lots of people then you become friends later on.

Me and my sister are planning for a Surprise Birthday Party for my mom. We're lucky to get the date that we wanted because we did an early booking for December. We are also planning for a ballroom dancing since most of our guests are oldies. Me and my sister aren't good at it that's why we're planning to get a DI to teach us the Chacha, the Swing etc... hmmmm
TIPS FOR PARTY PLANNING THIS CHRISTMAS
- Plan as early as possible. You should have at least an approximate number of guests and a date for the event.
- Look for a Venue 2-3 mos before the event. If you want to do it at your place there's no need to worry plus it's much cheaper but if you want to do it in a restaurant or hotels then you should start finding one as Early as possible because there will be lots of events for December and most of the party venues are already booked.
- Schedule you Food Tasting
Reservations
Make your Program
- Invite your guest and ask for confirmation.
Everything should be final 2-3 weeks before the event
*** FOOD is very important in any parties. A buffet or an Eat-all-you can Restaurant is better to satisfy your guests.
*** CAKE is also an attraction. It's better if you suggest your own design and type of Cake then ask the bakeshop of your choice to do it for you.

Today's a memorable one...
Since it's weekend, my sis and I went to Serendra at Market! Market!... I always pass by the place every time I go to Paranaque via C5 but this was my first time to go inside it. She brought me to Conti's where the Cakes are good. I ordered Mango Bravo. Ang sarap lolah! Plus the price is only P85 but per slice is good for 2 persons already. Whew! Two thumbs up for that!!!
Ok this is the real story, as we stroll around the mall my mom called and wants us to go home right away coz she wants to eat at Barrio Fiesta for the Mirienda Buffet (starts at 3 pm). As usual we have to drive for her. She said she has to go back home right away so she can watch the interview of Ylmas and Ruffa (give me a break!!!) that starts at 4pm. It was already 2:45 at that time and we have to travel about 30-45 mins to pick her up. That means we have to hurry so I told my sis I'll dive the car since I drive faster than her. Unfortunately, we don't know the route going back to C5. We just followed the Jeep, drove around the mall and then finally I saw the sign "C5". That was a relief, we were at C5 already when we realized that we are going to Paranaque (we're suppose to be on the opposite side). We stopped at a Gasoline Station and asked where to take the U-turn... In short we were able to see the U-turn. This is where the story started, since I'm in a hurry to pick up mom, I don't have much patience on any vehicle that would block my way. There was a little traffic jam before the the U-turn slot and a tricycle suddenly cut me out eh ayaw ko nga magpasingit!!!. SA init ng ulo ko binusinahan ko sya and I didn't stop until I got his attention. He stopped in front of me and gave me a look then went on. When I got the chance to overtake him, He drove faster till he reached me and then I heard a loud noise coming from my side. I know he hit the car... INTENTIONALLY!!!... I slowed down a bit and looked at him then the person I though was his passenger was laughing with the driver. I got scared!!! I didn't stop to see if my car was damaged although my sister was shouting at me to stop. I know they could harm us. I just told my sister don't worry about the damage, I'll fix it blah! blah! blah!...It's more dangerous if we'll stop coz they might do something to us since we're both girls. We were talking about it til we reached home. She said she wants to see the car right away coz she has a feeling the damage is big... After parking, we both checked the car and BULAGA!!!! Mom saw us and said" nagasgasan kayo no?!" but to our surprise there was no Damage/Scratch at all. I don't know what happened maybe a miracle but I swear binangga nya kami. It was a big relief though!!!
***Well! My mom changed her mind, don't wanna go to Barrio Fiesta anymore! Sigh! I was in great relief that I don't have to spend money to fix the car. We ended up watching The Buzz for the Ylmaz-Ruffa Interview (Yikes!!!)...
Whatta day!!!
